The first independent gambling guide to the best online
poker rooms!
After the flop
Choosing
to play a hand or not is the most critical decision you will make in a
hand of hold'em poker. The flop will be the second most critical
junction. On the flop you will choose to continue or not. If you go
beyond the flop then you will probably go all the way to the river. Do
not get into the habit of routinely seeing the turn. On the flop, either
you are the best or you have a good draw. Many players will take off the
turn with a poor draw because it only costs a small bet. Do not get into
this habit, bet if you are the best. See the turn if you have a good
draw. Fold all the rest. One pair at the flop is often enough to win.
Generally, you are hoping to have top pair or better. That is, you would
like one of your pocket cards to pair the highest card on the flop. Go
