Casino Revenues Reach Ultimate High
Casino reports have
just suggested that the profits for May in Las Vegas were the highest it
has ever been. People state this may have easily been caused by the open
of Wynn Las Vegas as well as a strong month in the American dollar.
May 2005 saw itself 12.5 percent higher then the same month’s 2004
profit. Online casinos have also reported very high rates for the month
of May and have estimated that the same consumers that were coming o Las
Vegas made gaming stops at online casinos as well. Five out of seven
Clark County markets stated an increase in gaming as well in numbers
were in the $100 million area.
The state Gaming Control Board has reported that a revenue increase this
big comes as a shock and it is wonderful to see that it is not only land
based casinos but online casinos that are sharing in the expanding
revenue market as well.
Even Governor Kenny Guinn had something to say about the Las Vegas
situation as the revenue increase was so high for the month of May.
Guinn stated that the month of May was the tenth year in a row that
Nevada has had an increase and it marks a good sign for the future of
Nevada. The Las Vegas Strip casinos revenue $538.8 million which is 16.1
percent more then the average amount they make.
In the same token, Barry Gerlit, representative for two online casinos
has stated that the past five years has marked strength for the online
casinos market and one can only expect that this market will grow.
Online casinos numbers have been reported in the billion margins and one
should always keep in mind that online casinos outnumber the amount of
land based casinos available. There are hundreds of thousands of online
casinos on the market and the numbers of people that play in them are
gigantic.
Frank Streshleym whom is the research analyst for the control board has
stated that the most interesting factor about this increase is that
because of its high numbers it shows that casino players were not
transferring from one casino to another but rather more people were
beginning to be gamers. For example, the huge amount of players in
online casinos has not taken money away from the land based casinos and
vice versa. Online casinos are enjoying their profit margins and are
satisfied with the online casinos generated revenue. Surprisingly, there
does not seem to be any competition in the world of land based casinos
with online casinos. These markets seem to compliment each other rather
than compete against each other.
Online casinos’ profit is hard to determine because there are so many
online casinos on the market. However, every online casinos
representative this reporter spoke to stated that there was a definite,
noticeable increase in the online gaming market especially in the month
of May. The market of gaming has expanded over the past 10 years in many
different sectors.
