Rock Hotel and Casino Deal Off
People have always been
curious about why big companies do not get more involve din gambling
both land based and online casinos. Companies that are successful on the
Las Vegas Strip such as MGM Mirage and others should inevitable be
successful as online casinos as well. However smart this may sound, the
official conclusion has shown that the Vegas casinos have not had much
luck in developing and maintaining online casinos. MGM attempted to
market online casinos and it did not meet with success. MGM produced did
not lose any finances or encounter any problems because of this but in
general it was declared a failure in terms of online casinos success.
MGM realized that since it has efficient success in land based casinos
it will not venture out into different streams such as online casinos.
It is not only the land based casinos and online casinos that are
questioning where their business can venture off too. It is also
different industries that are trying to get their hands on the gaming
market whether it is on land based casinos or online casinos but
especially online casinos. In one particular case that has just come up,
it is an Indian casino that is trying to be over taken.
A California Indian tribe had been looked at by the Hard Rock Hotel and
casino. It was actually the hotel investors that wanted to delve into
the Indian casino business and they were to spend $1 billion on the
project that would be set up in Las Vegas. This deal has just been
reported to have fallen though as the Hard Rock Hotel is no longer
interested in funding this experiment. In what may just be an example of
one industry deciding to stick to its own, Hard Rock has stated that
they are no longer interested in this deal.
Although reports state that the project did not develop because of
issues regarding Hard Rock feeling that they cannot put their undivided
intentions into the project, others have stated that it is because of
fear of success in land based casinos. As many online casinos have taken
over land based casino revenues, many new investors fear going into the
casino market and instead want online casinos.
It seems that most of the investors that have been interested in
actually pursuing a casino deal and actually not backing up from the
deal are the ones that deal with the online casinos industry as opposed
to the land based ones. Although Hard Rock Hotel and Casino made no
comment on the online casinos matter, some people have had the feeling
that because the Hotel was already so associated with the Hard Rock
casino, only an online casinos investment seemed appealing.
On the other hand, had the deal been about online casinos, the results
may have differed. Hard Rock President Kevin Kelley stated that they did
not feel like they were being fair to the Indian tribe because they were
not on the same page.
